After gaining a Master in architecture, a B.F.A. in paintings and a B.A. in textile design at the University of Washington in Seattle, I have practiced professionally as an architect and as an interior designer in both the USA and Japan. Among my many projects, I designed and supervised office renovation projects of the Sony Tokyo office and of the British Petroleum Tokyo Headquarters. My work was extensive, and involved everything from drafting, space planning, designing and site supervising to choosing paint colors, carpets, office furniture and accessories, and lighting fixtures. The articles of my overview on American interior design and lifestyle and my projects in Japan were published in several Japanese interior design magazines and the furniture industry newspapers. My seminars on the same subjects were conducted in Tokyo and in San Francisco. I have also provided staging design services for numerous model houses for one of the largest homebuilders in Japan and high-end interior design services for the 3-5 million dollar houses in the San Francisco Bay area.
I am certified nationally by NCIDQ and certified in California by CCIDC; and I am a LEED AP for new construction. I have taught at the Art Institute of California, San Francisco; and I have taught selected students from Japan who wish to receive private lessons from me.
